Norton LiveUpdate is a utility that downloads and installs security updates and software patches. Sometimes, Norton LiveUpdate fails to run. You should know the exact reason for this error to hamper the performance of the Norton application installed on your computer. It may happen due to connectivity issues. Check whether you can run LiveUpdate after getting a stable Internet connection. If you cannot resolve the Norton live update failed Mac issue, try the following methods given below.
Restart your computer and run LiveUpdate
Exit from all the programs running on your Mac and restart your computer.
You can find the My Norton window next to Device Security. Click Open.
In the Norton main window, double click Security and select LiveUpdate.
When the update gets completed, click Ok.
You need to run LiveUpdate until you get the message “your Norton product has the latest protection updates.”
Now, exit all the programs and restart your computer.
Even then, if you cannot run LiveUpdate, wait for another 24 hours and run LiveUpdate again.
Uninstall and reinstall the Norton security app
On your Mac’s menu bar, click the Norton icon followed by Open Norton
In the Norton menu, click Norton and then select Uninstall Norton Security.
