Scanning Mac Using the Bitdefender antivirus:

  • On your Mac, launch the Bitdefender antivirus by double-clicking the Bitdefender shortcut icon on the menu bar.
  • In the Bitdefender main interface, click the Protection tab from the left-side panel.
  • On the Protection screen, click the Antivirus tab and choose Quick Scan, System Scan, or Custom Scan based on your wish.
  • Once selected, click Start Scan.
  • Depending on the type of scan you have selected and your computer's performance, the scanning time may vary.
  • Once your Mac is scanned, remove the virus-infected files if any detected.

Using the Norton antivirus:

  • On your Mac, open the Applications folder and locate the Norton antivirus.
  • Double-click the Norton antivirus icon to launch it.
  • In the Norton main window, click the Scans button.
  • Navigate to the left-side panel and choose any one of the following scans.
  • Quick Scan
  • Full Scan
  • File Scan
  • Once you select a scan type, your Mac will be scanned for any virus-infected files.
  • You can view the scan result in the Scan Summary window.
  • Click Done to close the scan window or select Delete to remove the unwanted applications that have been detected.
  • You can also run the Norton scan from the command-line interface (Terminal) on your Mac.

Using the Sophos antivirus:

  • Launch the Sophos antivirus first and then click the FirstUser's Mac button.
  • Next, click the Scan button to begin the scanning process on your Mac.
  • Wait until the scan completes.
  • If your Mac is secure from malware, a message will appear on the screen stating that you are protected.
  • If it detects any malware, remove them from your Mac.
