G Data Internet Security for Windows protects your computer against viruses, spyware, hacker, and malware. It offers Real-time protection, i.e., the protection against threats by always running in the background automatically. In case of any emergencies, you will be notified via the Windows taskbar.
You can perform the G Data Internet Security update using two different methods, namely Virus Signature updates and Program Updates.
Virus Signature Updates
This update is for protecting your computer against the most recent threats. Usually, Virus Signature Updates are done automatically on an hourly basis. You can even update these manually.
These updates are released occasionally. The primary purpose of these updates is to introduce new features. To check the software version, launch the G Data Internet Security software and click the Security Center tab. Manually Updating G Data Internet Security’s Virus Signatures
Open the G Data Internet Security software on your computer.
At the top of the screen, navigate to the Security Center tab.
You can see the current virus signature status at the top-right corner of the screen.
If it is not up-to-date, click the rotating arrow icon.
Now, the Virus Signature of G Data Internet Security will be updated to the most recent version.
Once done, click the Close button at the bottom to complete G Data Internet Security update.
Manually Updating G Data Internet Security’s Program Updates
Make sure to close all other applications running on your computer.
On your computer, launch the G Data Internet Security software.
At the top, click Security Center.
On the main screen, navigate to the Messages section.
If an update is available, you will see the Program update available message. Click this link to start the G Data Security update process.
If prompted, select Yes to confirm. Now, the program update will be downloaded.
Once done with the download, you will see the In order to update the program it has to be shut down first message.
Click the OK option.
If you see any warning message stating that your antivirus program is disabled, ignore it.
The program update will start to install.
Wait until you see the Program update completed successfully message.
Now, click the Yes, restart computer now link.
