The Bitdefender Total Security program has a registry cleaning feature. You can use this to clean the system registry. The steps to download the Bitdefender Registry Cleaner on your computer are provided here.
Go to the official Bitdefender web page from your browser, navigate to the Home tab at the top-left corner of the screen, and click the Bitdefender Total Security link followed by the Download free 30-day trial link.
This will download the executable file of the Bitdefender Total Security program on the computer.
Bitdefender Registry Cleaner Setup
To install the Bitdefender Total Security program, locate the downloaded file and double-click it.
Click Yes in a new prompt dialog box. Once the Welcome screen opens, select the checkbox next to the ‘I read and accept the Subscription Agreement’ option and click the Install option.
Note: To read the terms and conditions of Bitdefender, click the Subscription Agreement link.
Wait until you see the ‘Bitdefender is successfully installed’ message on the screen.
Click the ‘Start using Bitdefender’ button.
Navigate to the Tune-up panel, click Optimize, and choose the Registry Cleaner option.
Continue with the installation wizard to clean the system registry.
Bitdefender Error 1008
Press the Ctrl, Alt, and Delete keys at the same on the keyboard.
This will launch the Task Manager window on the screen.
Click the Processes tab and end the programs one by one.
Check which program is conflicting with Bitdefender.
After identifying the program, uninstall it from your computer.
To uninstall a trouble-causing program, navigate to Control Panel and click the Uninstall a program option.
Select the conflicting program and click the Uninstall option.
Note: If needed, you can re-install the program later.
Once done with uninstalling the conflicting program from the computer, check if the error code 1008 has been resolved.
If your computer is infected with a virus, remove it. Virus infection might also be the reason for the Bitdefender error code 1008.
